There is something particularly beautiful about photographing a wedding that feels completely and unmistakably its own.
This intimate same-sex wedding brought two brides together in Derveni, a small coastal village near Corinth, Greece. Away from the more recognisable Greek island settings, the celebration had a sense of intimacy, warmth and individuality that felt perfectly connected to the couple.
As a Greece wedding photographer, I approach every celebration without trying to impose a predetermined look. Whether I am photographing a same-sex wedding, an intimate destination celebration or a larger gathering, I want the photographs to reflect the people, atmosphere and energy of the day rather than fitting everything into the same formula.

My approach combines candid observation with editorial direction.
Some of the most meaningful photographs happen when nobody is thinking about the camera — a glance between the couple, a reaction from a friend, movement through the celebration or one of those fleeting moments that would be impossible to recreate.
At other times, a little direction can create something more intentional and considered. I enjoy moving between the two: allowing genuine moments to unfold naturally while creating space for portraits with a stronger editorial perspective.
For this Derveni wedding, the photographs tell the story through both approaches — the atmosphere of the village and celebration, the connection between the two brides, the people around them and the quieter moments in between.

Based in Athens, I photograph weddings throughout Greece and Italy for couples coming from Greece and abroad.
While Greece is known for its islands and iconic landscapes, I also love photographing celebrations in places that feel more personal and unexpected. Derveni is one of those places — a small coastal setting near Corinth that provided a beautiful backdrop without ever competing with the couple or the people around them.
The location matters, but the story always comes first.
PHOTOGRAPHING YOUR WEDDING AS IT ACTUALLY FEELS
I don't believe every couple should be photographed in exactly the same way.
Some people are naturally comfortable in front of the camera. Others prefer to forget it is there. Most couples are somewhere in between. My role is to recognise that difference and adapt my approach accordingly.
I observe before deciding what needs to be photographed. I guide when direction can make a portrait stronger, but I don't manufacture moments simply because they are expected in a wedding gallery.
The result is a collection of photographs that combines candid moments, editorial portraits, atmosphere and details — while remaining connected to the people who were actually there.
